Season 1 of Spiral was about finding my way out of survival mode. Season 2 begins with something new: learning to hold both the light and the dark, the easy and the difficult, the joyful and the messy.
This week set the stage perfectly: food poisoning, awkward days, a new protein shake routine, and somehow a 10K race only two days later.
Food Poisoning
Early in the week, I got hit with what I’m sure was food poisoning (note to self: don’t trust old yogurt 🙈). It made showing up at work uncomfortable. Nothing like sitting through meetings when your stomach is staging its own protest.
And because I was trying to integrate a new protein shake, my body wasn’t exactly thrilled. Sometimes what’s supposed to help feels like it’s making things harder.
Takeaway for creators: systems aren’t always smooth at the start. Integration takes discomfort. Be patient with the learning curve.
The Race After Chaos
Just two days later, I was lacing up for a 10K. The morning wasn’t flawless:
- Alone at an empty KTX station at dawn
- A 45-minute taxi ride to the starting point
- Forgetting my phone in a bathroom and sprinting back as the shuttle was about to leave
But somehow, the race happened. I crossed the line, medal in hand.
Takeaway for creators: progress doesn’t wait for perfect conditions. Show up, even when the prep feels messy.
⚖️ Season 2 Theme: Duality in Practice
This is the heartbeat of Spiral Season 2. Light and dark aren’t enemies — they’re partners.
- The light moments remind us why we create.
- The dark ones deepen our perspective, test our resilience, and give us the best stories.
Season 1 was about escaping the spiral. Season 2 is about staying steady when the spiral bends — in both directions.
An Invitation
Season 2 of Spiral isn’t about avoiding the shadows. It’s about learning to dance in both.
I’ll be writing about:
- Creative systems that bend but don’t break
- Habits that survive uncomfortable weeks
- Reflections that turn both chaos and clarity into fuel
Because creativity doesn’t live in only one half of life. It lives in the whole spectrum.
Will you walk with me into both the light and the dark?
